These cards have a variety of Bible verses which can be used for meditation or memorization. You will find verses on all kinds of topics in the Bible. Card set 1 contains more commonly memorized verses. The other card sets have selected verses but in a randomized order. For solo translation editions, the verses on the front and back are related in some way for further reflection. The source text can be found on the ebible.org website. Please let us know if you find any discrepencies between the source text and the verse on the card.
Age Focused Verses
We have curated three verse groupings based on the age of the reader. The Child selection has verses appropriate for ages 4 through 8. The Youth selection has verses appropriate for ages 9 through 15, which also includes the Child verses. The Adult selection contains all of the verses, including the verses in the Child and Youth selections. For English and for child readers, and probably many youth readers also, the Bible in Basic English translation is recommended, as it uses simpler words. Keep in mind that the readability for young readers is dependent on the translation - while a verse may be understandable in one translation, it may be unintelligble in another translation.
Printing Instructions
These cards can be printed on a home printer. Feel free to print as many as you want and distribute to any and all. There are 4 cards per sheet of paper which are intended to be printed landscape, duplex (flip long-side top), so that one has scriptures on both the front and back. 110 lb index cardstock (199 gsm) is recommended. Cut along cut lines after printing.
